Each GbE2 Interconnect Kit ships standard with two 24-port, managed layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switches that support a future layer 3-7 switching option. Uplink options are available for either copper (10/100/1000T) or fiber (1000SX) Ethernet networks. Additionally, each GbE2 interconnect switch includes a 4-port 10 gigabit bridge switch supporting a future 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplink upgrade. A pair of redundant hot-swappable GbE2 Interconnect Switches are packaged as a single interconnect kit; only one kit is required per server blade enclosure.
